About Henrietta Soames
|
|
Henrietta Soames has been teaching and mentoring writers for over 15 years. She has had three novels published and several short stories. 'I know what it's like,' she says. 'I know how daunting the blank page can be.'
She created WrittenWords to offer the individual support that she realised writers needed. 'I'm a sort of writing coach,' she explains. 'Whether you're working on a novel, a short story, a CV or dissertation, you have to resolve the same problems: how to structure and shape the piece, how to make it speak to the reader and, quite simply, how to get the words to achieve the effect you want them to achieve.'
Henrietta Soames offers constructive feedback, valuable insights and practical suggestions. 'I'm on your side,' she says. I listen to what you say, read what you've written and take your project seriously from inception to completion - your project really matters to me.'
She co-founded The Complete Creative Writing Course with Maggie Hamand and has run one-day workshops for businesses and organisations to develop their writing skills. At Morley College, she ran the novel-writers course for several years and led the Intermediate Writers Summer School.
Her first two novels, At the Hall and A Play of Light were both published by Headline Review. Her third novel, Leaving Imprints is published by The Maia Press under the name, Henrietta Seredy. Her short stories have been broadcast on Radio Four, included in anthologies by Constable and Heinemann, and have appeared in London Magazine, Stand, and Quality Women's Fiction.
'The secret of writing is commitment,' Henrietta says. 'But sometimes that commitment can falter. I'm here to support you if you have doubts, I'm here to support you if you're unclear - I'm here to support you all the way .' |
